History of Celestial Heritage
In 2003 LDS artist D. O. Christensen was given an Award of Merit and one of three Viewer’s Choice Awards in the International Art Competition held by the LDS Church at The LDS Church Museum of History and Art in Salt Lake City for his painting entitled Called to Serve.

That painting is now owned by the museum. Brother Christensen’s paintings are very unique in that they greet their viewers with an inspiring message and depict everyday people in everyday activities. This attribute lends itself well to the purpose of this web site.

Brother Christensen was approached by a friend of his and was asked if it would be possible for the parents of a young potential missionary for example, to purchase a print of a painting like Called to Serve and have it be their son depicted as the young missionary looking into the mirror. After some careful thought and consideration he determined that with the digital technology available today, such a thing was indeed possible.

Brother Christensen has agreed to developed a series of paintings for that purpose and has also agreed to oversee the art department and personally train the artists who will perform this unique and spectacular process which will allow such a personalized inspiring fine art print to be available to the public.

Brother Christensen’s new exhilarating painting entitled The Armor of God, pictured here, is the first fruit of this commission.

Whitness for His Name is the second addition to this endevor.

Depicted in these paintings is the Savior himself placing the helmet on his young missionaries who grip the gleaming sword of the spirit in there hand which is the reflection of the holy scriptures.

These magnificent paintings were designed to inspire courage and valiance in the hearts of every young man and woman who prepares themselves to stand in the ranks of the Savior’s mighty army.

Never before has the opportunity existed to have such personalized images available, except to those who could afford the thousands of dollars required to commission a private artist to create such a painting, such is no longer the case.

The Armor of God and Witness for His Name are the first in a series of paintings to be developed by Brother Christensen, the number of which has not yet been determined. Surely the number of paintings that can be created which will inspire us and avail us the opportunity to be the central character in such a singular setting is limited only by our imaginations. And considering the divine source of such edification, indeed there may be no limits.
